Free Comic Book Day

Visit your favourite comic book dealer this Saturday, May 3rd, for the 7th annual Free Comic Book Day. The event is part of an ongoing promotional effort to help the comic book industry bring in new readers and introduce them to local independent comic book dealers. The Beguiling is helping to stage Free Comics For Kids Day at the Palmerston Branch of the Toronto Public Library from noon to 5pm. The event includes author presentations, arts and crafts activities provided by the Burrow Art Centre, and free comic books and Owl magazines to kids under the age of 13.

Silver Snail on Queen West is also celebrating their 32nd anniversary this same weekend, with prizes, giveaways and guest appearances.

Free Admission to ROM for Students

As part of the recently announced ROM CAN program, full-time post-secondary students with valid student card/photo id, are eligible for free admission to the Royal Ontario Museum on Tuesdays.

Free Clothesline from Toronto Hydro

As part of Toronto Hydro’s Take A Load Off Toronto campaign, Toronto residents can pick up a free clothesline at participating Costco, Home Depot, Wal-Mart or Zellers locations, on select dates over the next three weekends.

April 26 - 27: Wal-Mart, Zellers
May 3 - 4: Costco, Home Depot, Wal-Mart
May 10 - 11: Costco, Home Depot, Wal-Mart

Limit of 500 per store per day.
