Festival of India

The 37th annual Festival of India, takes place this weekend, July 18 & 19, at this year’s new location near Yonge & Queens Quay.

The event kicks off with a parade down Yonge street, beginning at Bloor, starting 11am Saturday, and will feature two days of Indian arts & culture, and the ever popular free vegetarian feast.

2009 Beaches International Jazz Festival

The 21st annual Beaches International Jazz Festival kicks off this weekend Friday July 17 – Sunday July 19 with free concerts at Woodbine Park and continues the following weekend, Saturday July 25 – Sunday July 26 at Kew Gardens.

The street festival will run will run Thursday to Saturday, July 23 – 25 (7pm-11pm) along Queen St. East (from Woodbine Ave to Beech Ave).

Caribana Launch at Yonge-Dundas Square

The official launch of the 42nd annual Caribana festival takes place tomorrow, Tuesday July 14 11:45am-2pm at Yonge-Dundas Square.

The festivities will include musical performances, dance troupes and a special preview performance by members of the cast of The Harder They Come.

Just for Laughs at Yonge-Dundas Square

The Just For Laughs comedy festival is staging free shows at Yonge-Dundas Square this Friday & Saturday, July 17-18, 2009.
