Teachers’ Day at Toronto Zoo

This Sunday September 20, 2009 is Teachers’ Day at the Toronto Zoo. Teachers with a current Ontario College of Teachers or Federation Card, along with a photo ID, will be admitted free along with one guest.

The Education Branch will have a special Open House to learn about their curriculum programs, and be providing tours of the new Tundra Trek exhibits.

Roncesvalles Polish Festival

The 2009 Polish Festival runs Saturday & Sunday September 19 & 20, in the Roncesvalles Village.

Kino Kultura, a selection of Polish films at the Revue Cinema will coincide with the festival. Admission is free to the Polish Shorts Program at 12:30pm, Sept 19.

Maple Leafs Tailgate Party

Coco-Cola Zero and the Toronto Maple Leafs are hosting the Fans First Tailgate Party this Wednesday, September 16, beginning at 4pm outside Gates 5 & 6 at the Air Canada Centre (off of Bremner Blvd).

The event will feature a live performance by Sloan and free giveaways including Leafs swag, Coke Zero, and tickets to the night’s preseason game against the Boston Bruins.

Toronto Ukranian Festival

Discover Ukranian culture at the Toronto Ukranian Festival running Friday September 18 (beginning at 4pm) to Sunday September 20, at Bloor West Village, between Jane St and Runnymede Rd. Highlights include musical and dance performances, a sidewalk sale and the annual festival parade taking place on Saturday, 11am-noon.
