Travel Expo

Turkey Giveaway at Downsview Park

The first 300 families will receive a free frozen turkey and 5 lb bag of potatoes, at the 3rd annual Turkey Giveaway being held at the Downsview Park Merchants Market (2 lights east of Keele St. off Sheppard Ave.), on Sunday, October 11, 2009 beginning at noon.

The day will feature live entertainment, giveaways and an open mike Karaoke contest. The market is open year round, every weekend 10am-6pm.

Free Screening of Drag Me To Hell at Bloor Cinema

Toronto Book Awards

This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Toronto Book Awards.

The public is invited to attend an evening with the shortlisted authors for a group reading at the Bloor/Gladstone branch of the Toronto Public Library, on Wednesday October 7, 7pm.

Join Mayor David Miller on Thursday October 15, 6pm, as he announces this year’s winner at the awards ceremony being held at the Toronto Reference Library’s Bram & Bluma Appel Salon.
