Christmas Choral Concert at City Hall

The City of Toronto invites the public to celebrate the season with the annual Christmas Choral Celebration taking place in the City Hall Rotunda at 11:30am, December 23, 2009.

The concert, lasting approximately 1 hour will feature performances by The Toronto Mass Choir, Regent Park School of Music, and Toronto Beaches Children’s Chorus, with musical accompaniment by the Tower Brass.

Holiday Screenings at Bloor Cinema

The Bloor Cinema is hosting a free members-only screening of It’s a Wonderful Life on December 18, 2009 at 7pm. Memberships available at the door for $3.

There will also be matinee screenings of holiday classics, with free admission for members, seniors and children:

December 21, 4:30pm – Babes in Toyland
December 22, 4:00pm – It’s a Wonderful Life
December 23, 4:30pm – A Christmas Carol

Olympic Torch Relay Celebrations

Cheer on the torchbearers as they make their way through Toronto from December 17 to 19, 2009.

The Olympic Flame will make a stop at the Scarborough Civic Centre on December 17, 3pm. Celebrations get underway beginning at 1pm with entertainment by buskers, musicians, and more.

The festivities will continue with a celebration at Nathan Phillips Square beginning at 6pm. The evening will feature performances by dancers, muscians and acrobats, the lighting of the cauldron by Olympic medalist Vicky Sunohara, and conclude with a fireworks display.
