Sounds of the Season 2009 at CBC

On Friday, December 4, 2009, visit the CBC Toronto Broadcasting Centre for the annual Sounds of the Season – a day of live on-air programming at Glenn Gould Studio and a chance to meet your favourite CBC personalities. Participate in the silent auction for a chance to win some great prizes. Please bring a donation to help support local food banks.

“The Hour” Studio Tapings

The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos is back this fall for a 6th season on the CBC.

KidSummer at the CBC

Children will have a chance to meet their favourite Kids’ CBC television characters this Wednesday and Thursday (July 8 & 9, 10am-2pm), at the Canadian Broadcast Centre. Visit cbc.ca/kidscbc for a schedule of performers and activities.

Sounds of the Season 2008 at CBC

Visit Glen Gould Studio at the CBC Broadcasting Centre on Friday December 5th, for Sounds of the Season, a day long chance to listen to fabulous music, meet your favourite CBC Radio and TV personalities, and bid in a silent auction, all in support of the Toronto Daily Bread Food Bank.

Musical guests will be dropping by throughout the day, incuding Divine Brown, Molly Johnson, the Barenaked Ladies, Jacke Richardson, Daniela Nardi, Sarah Sleen, and cast members of the Sound of Music.

Up the Yangtze at The Royal

The CBC is holding a free screening of Up the Yangtze at the Royal Cinema, 608 College Street. The screening and discussion afterwards with filmmaker, Yung Chang, takes place Wednesday March 26th at 7pm.

The documentary focuses on the people living along China’s Yangtze River, and the effect the Three Gorges Dam project has on their lives. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last fall, and was featured more recently at the Sundance Film Festival.
